Bakersfield Music Theatre - Presenting Broadway Musicals to its Patrons Since 1969

Bakersfield Music Theatre has been presenting Broadway Musicals to its patrons since 1969. Each year, three major musical events are offered on the big stage of Harvey Auditorium, a landmark art deco theater seating 1600.

The founders of the Bakersfield Music Theatre had a vision to see beyond our treasured Harvey Auditorium season. That vision was Stars Theatre Restaurant. A dinner theatre, that since 1999, has graced downtown Bakersfield and won the hearts of thousands of theatre goers. It gave the Bakersfield Music Theatre a home to produce comedies and still some of the greatest musicals from Broadway. Operating out of both theaters, Bakersfield Music Theatre has grown from one show a year to eleven.
